5 Reasons Why it is not working out for you financially
Time to get your money right!
It is the New Year and I'm sure we are all making plans and resolutions that we feel will make our year better. It is so very important to analyze and reflect on our lives everyday. When we reflect on life, we begin to find answers. We should approach this process with an open mind and an open heart seeking growth. So when I propose that something is not working out for you, believe me, I am having a conversation with myself.
A Common Complaint
Complaint: I have money problems . . . Does it seem like you are living paycheck to paycheck? Does it always seem like you have no money because you have way more bills than you have money? Or maybe your account is constantly overdrawn and you are paying hundreds of dollars in fees. I understand, especially now that I am not working a traditional job and I am working on developing my business to generate revenue. We all have money problems from time to time, but if you find yourself constantly in this position you may be doing something wrong.
5 Reasons it is not working out for you
financially. . .
#1 You don’t give enough . . .
You may want to try giving a little more. No, really. I know that if I give, it will come back to me. This is the way Universal law works. Better yet, this is how God wrote the laws of the universe, “Give and it will come back to you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over.” You really have to condition this into your heart. Understand that this does not only mean that you will get back what you have given, but that you will get back in abundance. When you give with an open heart, your heart is also open to receive blessings. Try giving to the local food bank, or to the change box at Wawa, or in offering plate at church. You might find that your financial situation will turn around when you start giving more.
You don’t always have to give money, you can give your time also. You may not always be repaid with money but you may find that your mind is more open to receiving a money making idea! Remember, a closed fist is not opened to receive anything. Try giving more.
#2 You might be complaining too much about not having. .
We must understand that our words are powerful. When you speak, you are creating energy, literally sound waves that are traveling through the air. You are putting energy out into the universe. Here goes another law. . . Your words can go out and give out positive energy or it can give out negative energy. Whatever you contribute to the universe it will come back to you. The word says this.
“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give unto your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” Luke 6:38
In plain English: “You gonna get, whatever you dish out!” Try changing the way that you speak. Instead of saying “I’m always broke,” try saying “I am ready to receive my financial blessing.” Which brings me to my next point . . .
#3 You don’t ask for what you want . . .
Yes, we all fall victim to this. We are always complaining about what we don’t have and therefore we are calling into our life what we don’t want. Let’s reverse that and start calling into our life what we do want. Here goes another universal principle: “Ask and it will be given to you!” The word says you have not because you ask not. Furthermore, the word says that even evil men know how to give good gifts to their children, what do we expect from our father in heaven to give us? One of my favorite verses goes like this:
“Ask, and it shall be given you, seek, and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7
You should really condition this one in your heart. I made up an acronym for it: ASK - ask, seek, knock. Easy right. God wants you to have good things in your life, his word reveals so much to us and here is where we need to seek for the answers in order to even begin to understand what we should be asking for. Quick tip: write down what you want on a piece of paper. “Write it down and make it plain.”
#4 You don’t surround yourself with positive people. . .
Have you ever been around a person who is just miserable all the time. His or her countenance is just sad and depressing. He or she is always complaining about what they do not have. Run!! You have to separate yourself from people like this because they have a spirit attached to them that will also try to suck your positive energy. Positive energy is an important thing to have when you want positive things to happen in your life. Think positive, be positive, surround yourself with positive people. Better yet, if you find yourself always without; think rich, be rich, and surround yourself with rich people! I know easier said than done. But my rich mindset is something totally separate from money. Rich people to me are people I can learn from, people that are motivating, encouraging, energetic, intelligent, insightful, blessed, and honest. This is the type of person I want to be and so I surround myself with these type of people.
#5 Money is your idol . . .
SMH. This should not be, this should not be. You should control your money, your money should not control you. You have to change your mindset about your money. Are you someone who lives paycheck to paycheck? Are you always struggling to pay your bills? Are creditors always calling, saying where’s my money? Do you try to hold onto your money as long as you can or do you take care of your responsibilities first?
Look, I’m no financial expert yet because l am still learning how to increase my money. I am starting out by changing my mindset and telling myself “There is more where that came from!” Money is not scarce, they print it in abundance. It is actually not worth much at all, so why do we treat it that way? It is probably because money represents power in this country. If you keep that mindset then your money will continue to have power over you.
Give up the idol. Let your money work for you and not you for it. Try these tips:
-Find a savings account that pays you interest and start paying yourself first. Start with $20 a month if you have to, but start with something.
-Stop spending money quicker than you earn it. Take care of your responsibilities and don’t spend everything before you pay your bills. If you have too many bills, get rid of those bills.
-Get rid of the credit cards, you don’t need them. The word says the borrower is always servant to the lender. Start paying cash for what you want and that will give you a more conscious connection to what and how much you are spending.
-Side note: gain credit knowledge. when I say get rid of your credit cards, don't close the accounts. Instead you need to pay them low and stop over using them. You have to learn how to play that credit game.
-Be a good steward of your money. Watch over it, be mindful how you use it. Start couponing if you have to and make that dollar stretch. Pay back people that you borrowed from and start creating a positive relationship with money.
-Change your money mindset. Money is not evil and their is enough to go around. As long as you have a negative outlook of money, you will continue to repel it and you will continue not to have any. You have to "Think Rich to Grow Rich!"
I hope this helped. Maybe you have some money saving tips for us . . . leave it in the comments. I would love to hear from you. You may help motivate others to keep their money in their pocket!
Until next time

Being wealthy is a mind set. If you are healthy, have family, food, clothing, and a pillow to lay your head on, you should count your blessings: you are rich. What happens is when we lose sight of what we have and we are not appreciative of what we have, we block ourselves from receiving more. . . You must be thankful for what you have, then God will give you more!
