Lead and Guide Me
Welcome 2020 too! (2022)
2020 wasn’t a good year for a lot of us. For some of us, it was a much needed rest that allowed extra thinking time. 2021 was like a recovery year. We were recovering our dreams, visions, aspirations, hopes, and futures. We had to redefine what it meant to live a more abundant life. What was really important? What was important in life? What was helpful, healing, and necessary versus what was a waste of time?
I have to ask myself questions like these often so that I can remind myself what direction I should be going in. Then when I find myself on the wrong path, I can stop, reroute, and get moving in the right direction again.
Lord, I am Lost, help me find my way. . .
The Lord has shown me that we do get lost along the way sometimes. We are sheep who need a shepherd. The Lord is our shepherd. He will guide us in the way that we should go. He will even guide us through the hard and dark places that we get lost in. We just have to remind ourselves that he is always with us. He will never leave us nor forsake us. In times that we feel lost, we can ask him for help and for guidance.
I just wrote down this scripture from Psalms 31:3
For thou art my rock and my fortress: therefore for thy name’s sake lead me, and guide me.
We can request that the Lord continues to lead us and guide us through this life, even when it gets hard. For the poetry power section this year, I am going to just write the things that are on my heart and hopefully someone would find it comforting or relatable. May God bless you as we navigate this year together.
What shall I say? What shall I do? How can I enter in?
What is the requirement and did I mess up too much? Please redeem me and forgive me and take me again
fix me and heal me and make me again
into a new creature
Pick up the broken pieces
Lead me in the way I should go
Throw away my wrong thoughts
And send me what I need to grow
Send me what I need to know
Send me what I need to show
That I am all in with you
Lead me and Guide me
Show me the way
Take me again
Lord of truth
Lord of calm
Lord of all
