Don’t rush life.  Take it in slow, breath it in deep.  Let every pore of your being experience the blessings that God has for you.  Don’t allow the lust of your flesh to want to do everything at the same time.  This will not be enjoyable and you will become over fertilized.

I got mad at my husband for buying a turf builder for the lawn instead of the grass seed that I had asked for. Turf builder consists of a mineral/fertilizer blend that changes the condition of soil to allow for better root growth while killing weeds at the root. He was so sure that this was what we needed to kill the clovers and weeds so that we could have a gorgeous full green lawn.  Meanwhile, I had no problem with the clovers, I liked them.  Against my better judgement, I used the turf builder and a few days later I had large yellow dead patches in my lawn.  I was so upset and hurt that I didn’t go with my first instinct.

Looking online for a solution, I learned that I had to flood those areas with water to dilute the damage of mineral build up.  My mistake was over fertilizing these areas which led to fertilizer burn.  I burned my beautiful grass.  I couldn’t help but feel responsible.

I did learn a deeper lesson though . . .

Anytime something happens in my life that elicits a strong emotion response, I try to get still and listen to what the Lord is trying to teach me.  I feel that everything in our lives are teachable moments.  The experiences that we have are to gain insight on a deeper, more spiritual level.   To me, everything is an analogy; a metaphor; a parable that the Holy Spirit is using to teach a lesson.  Whatever is happening in your life is for a reason, it is for a lesson, and it is for your growth.

Some lessons cause great hurt, burns, or wounds that take a long time to heal.  We have to learn from these lessons or we risk the chance of ruining the mineral content of all the soil.  When this happens, nothing can grow at all.

If we continue to gather information from the world, we can run the risk of being over fertilized.  Fertilizer burn will leave dead patches on your spirit.  A lot of us have these patches of dried grass, where it really looks like there is no hope for that area, BUT GOD.  God can fix all things.  He said that Jesus is the water to all those who thirst.  Guess what, he is also the water for those who have dry patches from being over fertilized!! Jesus changes the soil and allows it to receive truth and later produce life.   Hence, it is important for you to read the word of God, (The Holy Bible) to get the full nourishment and vitamin blend that will feed your soul.  Everyone is different and so it will be different for everyone.  This is why we need the Holy Spirit as our gardener.

Friends, don’t overexert yourself by trying to do too many things at once.  We have nothing to prove to anyone about who we are or what we are supposed to become.  Your destiny design is already programmed inside of you.  The Lord chose you and he knows who you are.  He knows exactly what kind of fertilizer you need to grow.  He knows what you need to be beautiful, and to meet your full potential.

Take in the experiences of life.  Learn from them and grow from them.  This is the life that the Lord gave you.  When your flesh signals you to desire more, it can be a trap to try to hurt you, distract you, and or deter you from your purpose.

So, my lesson here was that anytime we are looking to fix something that really isn’t broken, we could do more damage than good.  Life is this way.   I had set up my life with many tasks. I almost killed myself trying to be better, greener, and more full.  I was feeling burned out trying to do everything that I thought God wanted me to do.  The whole time he was trying to tell me that I was okay.  I needed to slow down, and relax.  So I breathed in this experience deeply and asked the Lord to re-calibrate my decision making process.  I need to learn how not to over fertilize my spirit with Youtube videos, social media, or news reports that do not mean me well.  Instead, I stick with the Lord.  He knows what I need and when I need it.

As for Hubby and the lawn situation, I forgave him!
