DREAM-Prioritize-Do It

What is a dream?  What is the purpose of having a dream that leads you to the different experiences of life?  What will keep you focused on that dream?

I once heard Oprah say:

"The Universe speaks to us always, first it whispers and a whisper usually in your life feels like hmmm, that's odd or hmmm that doesn't make any sense or hmmm is that right?"

The direction that someone's life is going in can often times be confusing.  This is an important secret in living, in growing, and exploring your purpose.  Everything might not be clear.  You might hear things that you are not so sure about.  My advice is to take action and do it.

But . . . Do What?

Do Life!

Life is about taking action. It is about making a series of decisions that lead to fulfilling the purpose that you were created for.  We all have dreams of becoming more than what our current life has to offer. If you don’t have a dream, I suggest that you find one. You will not find your purpose if you don’t have a dream.  Once you find that dream, focus on it. Make a commitment and “DO IT!”

When I write these blog posts I am really encouraging myself and others at the same time.   I think that everyone is capable of having a dream, but not everyone is ready to achieve that dream.  We have to keep growing and experiencing life so that we can move forward in our journey of living.

Once you find your dream it is important to cultivate your dream.  This dream is not to impress anyone, it is not to try to be better, or to prove somebody wrong.  Your dream is usually tied to a service.  You were meant to help somebody. Achieving your dream is about living your journey in freedom.  It is about your personal growth and development.  It is about competing with yourself and no one else.  It is about trying so hard, until you realize you need help, and you finally reach out to your helper, Jesus Christ.

But you won't realize this until you get moving in your journey!

I wrote one time in my journal:

"You weren't made to stop growing, that would be dying.  Wake up and live."

I also believe that God is putting ideas of business into his people's minds once again.  Those who are seeking the Kingdom will be blessed with wisdom, insight, legacy, and wealth.  If you have an idea for business, act on it.  Your dream is worth moving on.  Growth will be a great benefit.  Wake up and live!

A few Mondays ago I introduced, Art Williams, a former high-school football coach who became an Insurance guy and built a multi-billion dollar company.   He had a powerful message about taking action, the importance of setting priorities, making a commitment, and acknowledging God through the process.  The following are some tips to help you move forward in achieving your dreams.

#1 Believe in Yourself

My favorite point by Art was  when he explained that anyone could become successful if he/she were to keep going, beyond what is expected of him, beyond what they could see for themselves, and beyond what people have told them they were. He calls it that mental toughness which boils down to the following: Believe in Yourself!

#2 Commit and Don’t Quit

Next, he said that people seeking success are always almost there, but then they give up . . . Success doesn’t come to those who do things 99% correct. It isn’t those who “almost” make it, but those who keep on pressing and keep on going.  Great things happen for those people who stay excited, make a commitment, and don’t ever quit.  This boils down to: Commit and Don't Quit!

#3 Keep God First

He also said that he doesn’t necessarily believe that you have to have tunnel vision for business to be successful at business.  He said that in order to be successful for the long run you have to set your priorities: God, your family, then the business. If you lack in your spiritual walk you will become empty.  If you don’t have support from your family, you will probably quit when times get hard. You have to know where your motivation comes from.

#4 Dream-Prioritize-Do it!

Finally Friends, if we keep speaking about what we are going to do and we never do it, then our words are empty. Let your words mean something.  Do what you say: DO IT!!  Sometimes you have to take note from that small still voice that is leading you towards something great.  Remember, Oprah called it a whisper . . . I call it the Holy Spirit.  Grab hold of that direction and keep dreaming big dreams.  Prioritize your time in achieving that dream so that you can do the work necessary to achieve it.

Great speech!
