"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.”

Matthew 5:11

I had to write this down because I think the attack wants me to remain quiet, but I will speak out on this today . . .

Someone said something very hurtful about my family on Facebook.  It was so slanderous to the point that it became insulting and degrading. I will spare you the details, but it wasn’t very nice . . .

Unfortunately, this is not the first time that someone said something false against my family.  I have to say that I am also guilty of placing a label of “dysfunction” on my own family members, (Lord, forgive me) but for outsiders to make up and perpetuate lies; I know that this is the work of Satan.

Instead of responding with anger on my heart, I am going to pray about this situation.  I will not make an elaborate Facebook post about how wrong the other person was to say something evil about my family.  I will not shame those commentators who cosigned on the lie and continue to spread rumors that are not true.  I forgive, because I know the enemy hates that.  I need the Lord to remove unforgiveness from my radar because I don’t want it to stain me.  I don’t want to hold resentment against someone who is obviously hurting.  I know she is hurting because hurt people hurt people.

I just heard Joyce Myer say that she doesn’t think that there are people on this earth who intentionally get up in the morning thinking “ I wonder how many people I can make miserable today!”  LOL, I agree with Joyce.   I don’t think people think up these schemes that hurt others on purpose, but I know that the enemy is busy and sends his demons to cause chaos where there is peace.  I choose peace.

Lord, I pray for that person who spreads rumors about my family

I pray that she is healed in her heart, in her mind, and in her soul

I pray that people stop believing false reports and start gaining perspective about life

Lord, I rebuke the distraction

I will not get involved in civilian affairs

Lord guide me to higher ground

Give me a clean heart

Forgive me for my part in what I have loosed to make this experience happen

Forgive me Lord, I forgive others

Show your grace and Mercy on me oh Lord

As I shine grace and mercy on those who persecute me

I count myself as blessed

For they are speaking against me

I count myself as blessed

For they tell lies against me

I count myself as blessed

For they run my name through the mud

I rejoice, and I rejoice even more

For I count it a blessing to be persecuted for your name sake

Blessed are the children of God

You can’t believe everything that Facebook says.  You can’t even believe everything that people say.  People in general  mean well, but are often too busy for their own good.  What do I mean by this?  I think that people mean to do well by others, but they get trapped in gossip, and they get trapped in creating their own narrative about what is reality. The enemy will let you see whatever you seek out to see; good or bad.  The Lord has giving me new insight to what slander really means. Slander is an attempt to convince you and others that you are not who God made you to be.  Don’t believe the enemy, believe the word of God!

Whenever the enemy tries to attack your character, or your identity, the Lord is getting ready to show you something new about how he made you.  You can only enter into this next dimension if you believe in who you are currently and you believe in your potential to grow.  Don’t let the enemy convince you that you are something that you are not.  You have grown and you are growing.  You do not have to be the same person you were yesterday.  The enemy will always try to remind you of who you used to be so that he can take you back to that place . . . You need to be brave enough and strong enough to say:

Not Today Satan!!  There is no condemnation in Christ!!  I am his.  I was lost but now I’m found!  God knows who I am because it is he that has made me and not me myself.  God says that I am well loved.  I am well loved!!

I am preparing for a breakthrough!

Don’t think it strange that we have to go through these things.  But count yourself as blessed and rejoice in the lessons of correction that you will learn from.  It is never comfortable at first but it will build your character.  This is growth.

Assignment: Read I Peter 4:12-19

12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you;

13 but rejoice inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings, that, when His glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

14 If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye, for the Spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you. On their part evil is spoken of Him, but on your part He is glorified.

15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters.

16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God on this account.

17 For the time has come that judgment must begin at the house of God. And if it first begin with us, what shall the end be of those who obey not the Gospel of God?

18 And, “If the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?”

19 Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to Him in welldoing, as unto a faithful Creator.

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

Psalm 139:14
