The New Age Movement

“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit” Colossians 2:8

What is the New Age Movement?

This is going to be a long conversation. . .Because God has spoken to me on this. Let's start by defining New Age:

First, In my words:

New Age is a philosophical thought movement about men being like God and trying to develop a path way to find God through self examination and enlightenment to get there.

Hence in this philosophy:

God is in everything (pantheism)

All things are one (monism)

Man is God

Mind creates reality

One’s own experience validates the truth

These are not my words but this statement is followed by this explanation:

“New Agers do not believe in evil. Therefore, they do not accept man's problem as separation by sin from God. Instead, they believe that each of us has forgotten his or her own divinity. Therefore, the New Age solution is to seek "higher consciousness" through meditation, breathing exercises, yoga, diet, crystals, channeling. spirit guides, and more. Each of these diverse practices has the same purpose: to awaken the god in man.”

This comment comes from a blog where the author says she used to be a new ager. She experienced it for herself then eventually found Christ. You can find the whole article here:

Wikipedia gives this new age definition:

“New Thought holds that Infinite Intelligence, or God, is everywhere, spirit is the totality of real things, true human selfhood is divine, divine thought is a force for good, sickness originates in the mind, and "right thinking" has a healing effect.[4][5]”

You may have heard of the “Course in miracles” or “The Secret.” I no longer support things like this. Hopefully this article will help explain to you why.

Ok, so, How do I put this in context?

Remember that movie, Weird Science? These two teenage boys wanted to create the woman of their dreams so that they could selfishly fulfill their hormonal desires to get laid and to be cool. So in the privacy of his bedroom,one used a computer science program to create a woman who looked like a supermodel. “She’s Alive!” they exclaimed and the rest of the movie was about all the trouble she got them into because they couldn’t control her scientific magic and schemes.

She was their creation, or so they thought. They were in control of her, or so they thought. They were smarter than her, or so they thought.

Look, how ridiculous!

Now let me introduce you to her again, her name is science, and she comes to you in the form of the “New Age Movement.”

First of all, let me tell you that this journey is freaking me out a little. But I know that God does not want me to be afraid. He wants me and you alike to study and be aware of the wiles of the enemy. Therefore I have to tell you that I have been wrong in teaching about personal development, the law, and new age type thought without fully understanding what I was doing.

I am not a New Ager!

I am a Christian and Jesus is showing me step by step how to walk and where to walk. I guess he wanted me to go this way so that I can tell other people, the devil is very busy and very sneaky!!

SMH, I can’t believe I almost fell for this, but that is how he works, SNEAKY!

The New Age movement is a DECEPTION!

Second, of all, let me tell you why I am freaked out. I talk to God! It’s weird, I know, but he keeps showing me things and leading me to things and there is real urgency in this message to the people. This message is clear: Do not become associated with this New Age movement because it will lead to your destruction. There is a strong deceptive spirit connected to it. I don’t know this spirit’s specific name yet but God is just telling me it is Science. It’s been here before in different forms. In the past scientology and more recently New Age Thought.

It's Supernatural!

A little background knowledge about how this is working spiritually. Oh, yes, there is a spiritual world. I’m not here to debate about that. Understand this whole thing is supernatural . . .

Here goes (cliff notes)

#1 The end times are here and this is the last go around for Satan’s Kingdom to deceive many.

#2 Our spiritual reality (which many people are not aware of) is based on two feuding Kingdoms: The Heavenly Kingdom (kingdom of light/ knowledge) and the Worldly Kingdom (kingdom of darkness/ ignorance). Each of these Kingdoms works on a system. God’s system vs. The Devil’s system.

#3 Humans were originally made to operate as a sample Kingdom of the heavens here on earth. What happened? Man fell. Our divinity was corrupted by sin (the mistake, the fall of man). We missed our destiny assignment because we missed the mark, Adam failed, and was misled. Why? Because of an introduction to the idea that oneself can be a god, or like unto God.

See, “Sin, This is why your life Sucks.”

WAKE UP!!!

It’s the same trick, it’s the same thing!!! It is the same lie!

We are being reintroduced to the same deception as the great fall, the tower of babel, idol worship, and religion in general. But understand this truth that the Lord says:

There is nothing that we can do as human beings to even grasp the concept of being as who God is. This type of completion of thought can not be made in this life. You must be born again.

And here we are once again (mankind) taking the bait, creating our monsters, thinking we have it all under control, and thinking we are smarter than God.

#4 This “heaven on earth,” (Which was the Garden of Eden) was stolen from man by Satan. Why? Because Satan was and is jealous of the position that man has over him.

The scripture says:

“Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven.” Matthew 6:10

There will not be heaven on this Earth ever again. It’s tainted. It won’t happen, not here. God has to make a new heaven and a new earth for us. (see Isaiah 65:17, Revelation 21:1)

“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. John 14:1-3

(The change in your earth happens when you believe in Jesus Christ and accept him as your personal savior.)

We were made to be part of the Heavenly Kingdom. Jesus has made it possible for us to have another chance at this.

Satan was the first angel ever created, he had power, he knew things, but when he came into the knowledge of the blessing and position that God was going to give man, he was jealous and could not keep his dwelling place in heaven. He cannot go back. There is no place for him anymore.

#5 The Good News! There is a place for you and I. Jesus made this possible for us all. When Jesus died on the cross he defeated Satan’s Kingdom. Now we have a way back to God through the word of God, who is Jesus Christ. There is no other way. Anyone or anything that says that there is another way to God, is a lie, is lying, is of the kingdom of darkness, and is of ignorance.

#6 Last point on the cliff notes:

The enemy’s Kingdom (the world) is on a mission to mislead you.

Paul had this very concern for the church at Colossae, a mostly gentile church who were growing in their faith. He knew that they desired to learn more and although he did not know them personally, he gave specific instructions to Epaphras about being misled by false teaching:

Read Colossians, Chapter 2

Paul writes with concern and instruction:

“‘I would that you knew what great conflict I have for you . . .and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father and of Christ; In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words. . . Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power.” Colossians 2:1-10

Ok, so what does that mean? It means that we are fighting against spirits, principalities and powers of darkness. Jesus is the head of all in the spirit realm. Nothing nor anyone has more authority than Jesus. If you are not equipped with the power of the word, then the spirits that come from Satan’s kingdom, sent by Satan, will attempt to lead you astray. Jesus (the word) holds all answers, all power, all wisdom, all knowledge, and the mystery.

There is soooooo much more!! but I can’t explain the whole bible in one sitting. Go read it for yourself. Spend time with God and he will reveal the same things to you.

Next thing- what exactly then is the New age movement?

If you read my blog, then you know that I often write about these types of things. I was just unaware that a lot of my writing sounded new age. Someone called me on that and so I have to take down things from Marianne Williamson and Dr. Wayne Dyer, because these teachings are misleading.

God said, that I have to let the Holy Spirit teach and interpret because if I try to do it, then people (like people do) will gather their own thoughts and interpretations then come up with their own teachings and understandings.

The word says to lean not to your own understanding but in all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your paths. So I will continue to pray and continue to let God guide me on this journey. But I know now, New Age is a Deception.

New age- My Quick Calculations on the Subject . . .

1) New Age is a philosophical thought movement about men being like gods and trying to develop a path way to find God through self examination and enlightenment. (sounds like Buddhism, or Confucianism, Taoism and other eastern thought)

2) Anything that is self promoting is a worldly idea and comes from the Kingdom of darkness (ignorance)

3) New Age thought is a deception and a trap put out there to deceive people looking for the truth.

4) This perhaps is the last revolt attempt (and last major stumbling block) carried out by the Nephilim to deceive God’s people from their inheritance. (other than the one world order and man’s dependency on this worldly system. But this whole point is another blog post.)

Therefore:

God is showing his people things that are beyond our natural understanding. God is showing us that this is the time that he is pouring out his spirit to his people and revealing truths that only his chosen can fully understand. Truths are only fully understood through the divine revelation of the Holy Spirit. With that said, the New Age Movement is a lie and a trick of the devil!!!

Does this mean that we become afraid of things, No. But my oh my, reading some of the information out there on New age thought is very scary. People are about to dabble and are dabbling with things that they have no business messing with.

This is why God warns us against learning astrology, the occult practices, and idol worship. We shouldn't be seeking spirit guides, or using spiritual law to attract self gain, this is evil. This is what the Nephilim taught man in order to destroy them and keep them from their inheritance. This is why God destroyed man with the flood. So let's understand that we are approaching the world destruction by fire, soon, very soon!

Conclusion

I like this conclusion drawn by the writer of the previously mentioned article:

“A true understanding of New Age practices makes one thing clear: Eastern practices cannot be blended into Christianity to produce something better. New Agers are Universalists, believing that all paths lead to God. They fault Christians for being intolerant and narrow-minded. But God's word anticipates this: "Enter the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the path that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." (Matthew 7:13, NIV)”

So, I as a Christian, am not being narrow minded. Instead I am being observant and obedient.

I think this thing definitely has to be addressed. Research guys. Study to show yourself approved, rightly dividing the word of truth. This is your mission as a Christian. Time to stop running away when things get scary or hard. We are not in this time period to remain baby Christians. It's time to grow up because we are the ones that are supposed to redirect the people who are lost back to Jesus.

God is saying to us, how can we possibly teach others about Jesus, if they know more about him then we do?

The word says:

"My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge, because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of God, I will also forget thy children." Hosea 4:6

"Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." II Timothy 2:15

To those playing with this stuff, it is time to learn the truth. Don’t be lied to anymore!

Side note:

I can’t believe this almost got me, God warned me when he told me to take my vision board down. He told me it was an idol and to take it down. I did, but I didn’t understand why at the time. Guess who was on it, Barack, Michelle and Oprah! OMG let me find out. I have to do a part 2 on this, this is serious.

He is still telling me to tell you that you have a purpose. You have a place and purpose in God’s Kingdom. Talk to God and find out about it.
