Prioritize your Purpose!

6 steps that will help you focus on God's plan for you

6 ways to prioritize

You must believe in yourself enough to know and to let others know that your time is worth something.  You have a purpose in this world and you don’t have time to do everyone else's work. Each individual is responsible for their own salvation and you have the right to work yours out for yourself!

It is ok to Prioritize your Purpose!

This is a simple concept that people are feeling guilty about.  You don’t have to feel guilty about prioritizing your purpose.  Time is too short.  Life is too short.  We need to be on the mission of saving souls, not running errands for Sis. Jones down the street because she won’t take action to get her license!

These 6 steps are self explanatory in prioritizing your purpose . . . just do them . . . no, really . . .

Ok, maybe you need a little more direction. . . Go, read, search, ask, look for the answers to find out how to do this.  It is only going to sink in if you care enough to find out the truth.

Hint: The Bible is the main place to look!

The following are general statements, thoughts, and opinions on how I no longer feel guilty about taking time for myself, telling people “no”, obeying God, and expressing my value.

I had mentioned before that it is always important to take care of yourself.  What I mean by that is, you have to prepare yourself to be in the appropriate position to help others.

Yes, God wants us to help other people, but we can't be burdened down with everybody else's problems before we deal with our own.

I am on a personal journey to find my purpose in life.  A recurring theme that keeps playing in my life is "Take care of yourself!"

So, when my mom invited me on a relaxing retreat this week, I jumped at the chance.  I am currently writing from my hotel room in my pajamas, peace and quiet.  I’m relaxing my muscles underneath the warm cozy blankets, and leaning against the soft down pillows.  This is a relaxing time for me.  I get to read my bible, pray, read good books, and write for God.  I know that this is my destiny, and ultimately my purpose. I am not stressed doing work for the Lord.

Now the world may interpret the idea of taking care of yourself as: “you need to take care of home first and forget about everyone else . . . only your life and your family matters . . .your drive will make you successful . . .life is about achieving greatness and making money and you should screw over everyone else in the process . . .”

This is wrong thinking:

I am not telling you to be selfish.  I am only pointing out that you have a purpose and a destiny.  Don't let life distract you from what God has appointed you to do.

I realize that this experience of life is a journey and God wants to put us on the right path to find our destiny.  We all have to learn how to stop getting distracted by trivial things that don’t matter.

It is ok to be focused on your dreams.  God will teach us step by step how we can prioritize and find the appropriate balance in our lives that will allow us to be happy.  More importantly, God will teach us how to use our gifts to provide a service to help people.

Helping others is a very important part of our purpose in this life.  But it is also very important to note that we must be prepared to prioritize and get our lives in order, in order to help others.  Only God can help us do this the right way. . .

Don’t let other people make you feel bad about following your purpose.  You don’t need anyone’s approval to be great at what you were created to do!

If you have a vision for your future, awesome, write it down.  If you are still searching for your purpose, you are fine, many of us still are.  Don't ever give up on the dream that God gave you.  Your dreams are connected to your destiny.  Your destiny is fulfilling your purpose.

Your purpose in life is a journey that cradles you in moments of youth and tosses you to the world of requite.  When we learn the lesson of loving ourselves for who we are, we learn that we owe the world nothing.  Instead, all things belong to God.

“The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof, the world and all that dwells in it.” Psalms 24:1

So, we as God’s children, knowing that we all belong to him and that he will work everything out for us, should faithfully trust that he gave us our dreams to dream.  He gave us our passions to pursue. He gave us our destinies to chase, and he gave us our purposes to fulfill.

But you say: “I don’t know the plan for my life.”

But God does, so you really need to grow your relationship with him so that he can direct your paths.  He knows what you are supposed to be doing.  He knows your next steps.  In order to take those next steps.  You have to grow. . .

“For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you, and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

-Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

You grow by watching other people’s Godly walks of life.  You learn by reading other walks.  You learn by hearing, taking notes, reflecting, and applying lessons learned.  There are so many lessons to learn about finding your purpose.  This lesson is on prioritizing what God is telling you to do.  God is telling you that you belong to him, and therefore you are royalty.  Hence, you have to unlearn all the self hate, fear, and conclusions that stop you from achieving.  It is all up to how you will continue to see yourself.

I like what Lisa Nichols says about prioritizing yourself, loving yourself, and encouraging yourself. This is not meant in a selfish way, but in a way to heal so that we can be ready to serve the Lord in full capacity.
