It will be Okay, It will Work Out

I had a dream.   It was an interesting dream because it was one of those that felt very real until you wake up.  It was the kind of dream that when you finally come to the acknowledgement that you were sleep just a few minutes earlier  you have to shake yourself into the reality of day. The people that you thought were once surrounding you are no longer there; sometimes you feel relief, at other times you feel sadness.  I am not much of a dreamer so I can’t tell you what is normal and what is not. I am more of a story teller. I think I was telling myself a story in the dream and the message was quite clear:

Stop worrying. All things work out for you

All things work together for the good, for those who love God, and for those who are the called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:28

I think that this can be a very quick and easy Motivation for this Monday.

Give the burden to the Lord and stop worrying about what is going to happen next. Live life and keep living.

I remember my little cousin preaching once and saying, “We are Human Beings, why do we pressure ourselves to be more than human or more than beings?  Relax and just be.”  I know that is easier said than done.  I have to remind myself often that I am not God’s assistant.  He does not require me to complete big audacious tasks that he has not trained me to do.  He will not give us more than what we can handle, nor will he give us an overwhelming burden to carry.  Nope! My God trains his servants. So whatever you are designed to do in this world, you are equipped with everything you need to do it.  God is a provider.

Don't Worry about Provision

Don’t worry about provision.  God provides for us. He even provides the experience of living for our growth.  He provides the experiences of resistance and challenge for our growth. He even provides correction for our learning and growth.  So everything is indeed working out for our overall good.

Can a Man add one cubit to his stature by worrying?

(see Matthew 6:27)

When we start to remind ourselves on a moment by moment basis that God is in total control, we can relax in this peace.  I have been concerned lately about losing a property that had belonged to my father. It was my childhood home and I didn’t want to see it go to the bank.  After I had worried a little bit, I was reminded of who God was.  I was instructed to pray about it and let God handle it. I tried. I prayed and felt a huge burden lift off of me. Last night,  however, I found myself in front of that house watching it be torn down with a huge crane.  It was being demolished in front of my very eyes. I was livid!

“How can this be, I prayed about this!!  This is my house. This is my dad’s legacy!  This is not supposed to happen like this!!!”

I was saddened that the bank was destroying the house.  I turned around while standing on the front porch with my head down in the sorrows of failure, when I noticed a car pull up.  It was Miss Kathy! My heart filled with overwhelming joy as her smiling face approached my sorrowful heart.  She walked up to greet me like she did many times before and said:

“Marie, don’t worry about it.  It will be Okay.” She handed me this big card envelope and asked me about my mom. “How is your mom doing?” She asked, like she had many times before.

“She's fine.”  I replied

“Tell your mom I said hello.”

“I will, thanks.”

This was the end of the dream. I was unclear because it felt so real.  I remembered the warmth of Ms. Kathy’s smile that calmed my spirit. I no longer was thinking about the demolition of the house, or my anger, or the unfairness of the situation. While opening my eyes and adjusting to the darkness of my bedroom; I  slowly reminded myself that my mom’s friend, Ms. Kathy, had passed away a few months earlier. I was happy, then I became sad. I just wondered; what did it all mean?

The answer:

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.  Let your request be made known unto the Lord.

Cast your burden on the Lord

Everything is working out for the good

So, friends I leave you with this.  We don’t have to have all of the answers, nor do we have to figure everything out.  We don’t have to hold anger in our hearts when things don’t seem fair. Things happen.  Life happens. We are living in a world that is not fair and we earn wages to place them in a bag with holes.  We should not think it strange that we lose things that we feel we deserve.  This is the design of the world. But when we live in the Kingdom, we know that we will always have a home to go to.  We know that we have a father that will always send a friend with a message of peace. We know that all things are working together for the good.  Nothing here really belongs to us.  Everything belongs to the Father in heaven because he has made all things.  Let him handle it and maybe we will find out later what it all means.

Until Next Time
