Reflecting on 2019, making BIG BOLD MOVES for 2020

Greetings friends,

I am sad to report that I am not having a good day.  I know that this isn’t typical language for someone who writes a motivation blog.  My spirits are low do to an unknown behavior that I must be exhibiting in my life. I think it has a lot to do with procrastination, which has to do with fear, which has to do with insecurity, which has to do with lack of motivation.  This sounds really funny now that I type it out because for someone who writes motivations and fills her head space with motivation, I find myself on empty. Why is this? I have reason to believe that it is because of my decision making process that tries to protect me from the outside world.  I have found comfort in my little corner of the internet, hiding on this blog of which I probably have 2 consistent readers. This is okay. To those two readers and the other three that may pass through; Thank you for your support.

This is not a sad song.  This post here is a declaration of how I am going to approach the new year.  I am going to be dedicated to not only growing this blog, but to making better decisions.  I think I need to start making the exact opposite decisions than the ones that keep me comfy and safe.  I am ready to be bold, daring, and aggressive about the promises that God has told me.  I am on a mission for having peace in my life.  I am on a mission to follow the real Jesus all the days of my life. I believe God and I have not come this far by faith to fade into the background.  I will not give up now! It reminds me of the song lyrics . . .

I just can’t give up now

I’ve come too far from where I started from

Nobody told me

The road would be easy

But I don’t believe he brought me this far

To leave me

I sing it inside my spirit and I know that it is time to start making

BIG BOLD MOVES

Let this be the motivation for this Monday:

Faith is making Big Bold Moves even when you can't see the outcomes of the future.  So, keep moving.  Keep Growing!

Friends, the Lord has told us to be strong and courageous.  He told us that success means to move forward, to grow, and progress through this thing we call life.  Everywhere we venture, every path that we are bold enough to walk on is our territory (Read Joshua chapter 1). Where we place our feet is what the Lord will give to us, and he will be with us wherever we go.  I tell you that it is not wise to labor to be rich but to first seek the Kingdom of heaven.  I am so much more at peace now that I seek real Kingdom living.  I am talking about love, growth, justice, and the real Jesus.  Thank you Lord for a savior from our wrong thinking.  Thank you for saving us from those seeking to destroy us!  Please take the time to read through Proverbs chapter 23.  I pray that the Holy Spirit speaks to your spirit and reflects through your soul.

Friends, there are many rulers in this world and of this world who want to lead us into a lie of false prosperity.  We need to be very careful of whom we surround ourselves with.  For the year 2020 I am praying for open eyes and open ears.  I am praying for spiritual vision. We do not have to be afraid. Our hearts do not have to be troubled by what we see happening in our physical world, but we remain confident that the Lord is in control of all things. The Lord is for us. He will not leave us nor forsake us. I am sure he will make a way for those who are actively seeking after him.  I encourage you to keep moving forward.

Although I am not feeling well physically right now, I am working on doing things regardless of how I feel.  I am working on being better. I am working on being that light that the Lord needs me to be. Someone told me today that I need to be more consistent because I have good content.  I wish I could be more consistent. I pray that you pray for me that I reach the right people, with the right word, at the right time. I think that God gave me a gift of communicating through writing.  I think that he wants me to grow in verbal communication so pray for me with that this year.  I want you to think about what your gifts are.  I want you to think about how you can use your gifts to help build up the Kingdom of God in the hearts of men.

Before you think about that, I want to ask you a very important question.  Did you welcome the Real Jesus into your heart to be your personal savior?  Do you walk with him, talk to him, or spend time with him.  I want to encourage you to spend time with the Lord.  Go ahead, read Joshua chapter 1 and Proverbs 23 and ask the Lord to help you make sense of it.  It is time to progress in the Kingdom.

So what was my progress this year?

I found a new church home which was really big for me.  I think this is the place that is going to help foster my growth.  I wanted to change my environment for the better and I am glad that the Lord moved me into this new season of my life.  The pastor just announced that they are creating a conference that is geared towards ministry on social media. So I am so down for that!

I finished my first year of my doctoral program.  It was a lot of hard work and I know that the Lord saw me through it.  I am finishing up statistics, which was my first statistics class ever!  I don’t know how I managed that but God is good!!! I will be attending a residency at the University in February.

My kids are all teenagers and I am so proud of them.  My baby girl is 14 and she is going to be a producer of somebody's TV show one day. She is currently on YouTube producing her “Kay Kay Show.” She is very opinionated and has so many ideas.  She is also very funny. Both of my girls are trying out for their High-school Musical “High-school Musical.” They are so excited and I am excited for them. We have been watching “High School Musical, the Musical”  tv show together on the Disney live stream. We also watch “Encore” which is about high-school drama department's cast members returning to their Alma mater almost 20 years removed to do an encore performance of their High-school show.  We Love musicals!!

My son got his license!!! OMGoodness.  I am so proud of him. We also had a great day hanging out, driving and eating “Five Guys.” #SoBlessed.  He also had a trumpet solo at his band concert. He did awesome.

When I look back at all of the special moments of this year, the things that made me most happy was seeing my kids happy.  They are proud of who they are and I am proud of them (the good kind of pride). This is why I am convinced that having strong relationships with people contribute to overall happiness.  Happiness contributes to real success. I don’t think any of my real happy moments related to having money. Somebody is lying to us if they say success is equivalent to prosperity. I don’t think this is true.  There is some type of correlation with prosperity and expectancy; perhaps even prosperity and determination; perhaps with prosperity and ambition.  I have an ambition to learn about the Kingdom and about the ways of the Lord with an expectancy of the promise of peace.  Peace is my Jesus.  I would rather have happiness, peace, joy, and love, than prosperity. This is my definition of success.  If prosperity happens to be an outcome of my peaceful life, that is fine with me also.

"Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.

Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven."

Proverbs 23:4-5

I am going to step into 2020 with a success mindset.  This means that I am going to be strong and courageous, working for the Kingdom while promoting Jesus Christ as savior.  I want to be a better mom, perhaps a better cook, and a better person.  Maybe I will start blogging about better eating choices. . . who knows what 2020 will bring!

What are you going to work on next year?

Until Next Time
