Creative Classroom

I recently had to prepare an art lesson for a group of girls I had never met before.  There was a conference that set out to encourage young girls to know their worth in the world.  I thought of a short art lesson that they would enjoy which involved pretty stickers and cute ribbon.  However, I found that I needed some assistance in conducting the lesson so I asked my daughters and nieces to help me by participating in a mock lesson.  They did, which led to more ideas to make the lesson better, which led to a bigger project and more supplies. So, for the next few weeks the art lesson went from something simple to something that took a lot more preparation, materials, and planning.  This resulted in hours of work for me, but also a bigger impact for the girls who were going to benefit from the art lesson. The lesson went from making a simple bookmark to creating a whole book!

I thought about the time it took to prepare everything.  I wanted the lesson to go well and I didn’t want anyone to feel like they couldn’t participate in the activity.  So I was very invested, my helpers were invested, and I really wanted the students to be invested in the lesson.  I have a strategy when I teach.  I first introduce my self, establish my expertise, I show examples, and then I demonstrate.  I like to suggest to them that they can approach the project the way that I have, or if they feel comfortable to experiment they can! I encourage my students  to use their imagination.  They are equally as creative, they just have to believe in themselves to create, and enjoy themselves in the process of that creativity.

Friends, this is how it should be with life.  It is a learning experience for everyone. God took very careful measures to design this lesson of life.  He prepared the materials; he gave us a book of ideas and instructions; he showed us examples; he has helpers to assist us and  he desires for everyone to participate.  His desire is for us to enjoy the process of life and get something out of it. He wants us to know our worth as creative beings!  Enjoy this opportunity!!

Life is the Creative Classroom!

Friends, each of us has an assignment in this creative classroom called life.  There is something that we need to complete. As we complete our assignments we are also given tests, more assignments, and more responsibility.  I have great news for you: With Jesus we cannot fail!!

Let this be our motivation for this week:

With Jesus we cannot fail!!!

You can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens you.

Philippians 4:13

We are now, unfortunately, experiencing a time of sorrows in our creative classroom. So many people are living a life lacking in love, forgiveness, and hope.  I don't think that there are too many people feeling creative because we are just trying to get by.  We often feel like we are failing at life. This is a time where there are so many distractions, fighting, and ignorance spreading in the world classroom.  It is not an environment conducive to learning. Eventually, the separation and hopelessness that we are experiencing in the world will make it even harder to reach those students who really need Jesus.  We have those students in class that disrupt the flow, the energy, and the overall objectives of the class.  They just need love.   But don’t worry, Jesus has overcome this disruption in the class.   Jesus is the one who saves and pays attention to all of his students. Those who have the mindset of the world will be left in the world until they can reach a level of understanding about the purpose of life.

We are in the creative class of life and I want you to know what you have to do to get a passing grade: Believe in Jesus Christ and accept him as your master teacher.  Believe that he has saved you from your wrong thinking about life. This is when you truly feel the freedom to be creative.

I love my teacher. I love my life and I pray that you partner with me on the next big assignment!

I changed my mind:

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Ephesians 4:31-32

Friends, let us love one another, forgiving one another, wishing each other well in class.  I am glad that as believers, we all pass to the next part of our everlasting life. Let us be creative and inventive as we make the best of this life.  Live your life on purpose, not just for play. Be blessed always and have a Happy Monday.

Until Next Time
